Introducing Lana Late

Meet Lana Late. She is thirty years old and has horrible credit. Don’t worry she doesn’t exist. I made her up for the purpose of helping you understand how to fix your credit. Because Lana has horrible credit, you may find the steps she takes to repair her credit will be similar to yours. In fact, she may be tackling the same issues you are faced with. And boy, does Lana has a lot of credit issues including, several tax liens, a slew of collections, months of late payments, credit card chargeoffs, a bankruptcy, and a handful of inaccurate accounts. You name it, she has it.

Lana has already started reading the How to Repair Your Credit Series. She came to terms with her job loss that propelled her into her current credit troubles. A few years ago, when the recession hit, Lana lost her job and had to take a part time job in order to pay her bills. The part time job kept a roof over her head but wasn’t enough to pay the minimums on her credit cards and other bills. Lana understands that sulking and feeling sorry for herself wasn’t going to stop the bill collectors from calling her house and threatening to sue her. She knew she had to pick herself up and fight, even though the sting of her layoff and its ramifications will always haunt her.

Lana is committed to fixing her credit and vowed to never find herself in this situation again. After pulling her credit reports (step four) and discovering her credit score of 423 (step five), Lana posted them on her refrigerator as a reminder of where she never wanted to be again. She also immediately started paying her current bills on time and preparing for the long journey ahead.
